Democracy in action in North & South Cowton Primary School
- Our School Council members are democratically elected by all pupils in NSC each September. Candidates must present their aims for all pupils and say why they are suited to the post of representative.
- Ballots are held in booths; votes are cast with an ‘X’ on a voting slip; votes are counted by members of the school staff. Those with most votes in each year group are duly elected.
- Meetings are held regularly and conducted according to the agenda agreed and drawn up by all councillors. Minutes are taken and displayed on the School Council Board in the KS1 hall for anyone in the school to read.
